Family vacations can be hard when you have teens that are currently going through their rebellious, anti-parents stage. Everyone but your teen is having a good time, which can be hard to deal with as a parent.
One way to make sure that your teens will enjoy the family vacation is to get their input. It’s called a FAMILY vacation for a reason. You and your spouse may have a specific place in mind, but are your kids interested? Discuss these types of things to prevent a pouty teen on your next vacation.
Another tip is to “be realistic about how long you’ll be gone” on the vacation. Take your teen’s personality into account–if he or she is very social, a two-week vacation can be a dreadful thing for them. You want to make sure that everyone is happy, and sometimes as a parent you have to give in a little.
