10 Ways To Play With Your Kids Even If You’re Tired

by Miss Mona

What can you do when your kids want to play with you and you're feeling tired?

Your kids will want to play with you even if you're tired. Do you know how to handle it?

Both parents and kids get tired.

But when you’re tired and your kids want to play, that’s when trouble can start brewing.

Kids, especially little kids, don’t know what it means that you’re tired and if they want to play, they won’t necessarily understand why you can’t play with them.

eHow.com has a great list of activities you can play with your children that require little to no effort or energy on your part. This is a list you might want to print out and put on the fridge!

Here are just 3 of the 10 things on the list:

  1. Rhyme Time: Just ask your kids to tell you a word that rhymes with _______. You pick the word, they pick the rhyming word. This can be done while you’re laying in your bed, on the couch, outside in the yard, even while driving.
  2. Nap Time: No, not nap time for your child. Nap time for you! Let your child take care of you and take care of you by putting you down for a nap, tucking you in, and reading you a little story. You’ll actually get to close your eyes during this activity which will give your eyes a much needed rest.
  3. Playdough Picnic: Have your kids create a “menu” and then make you some pretend playdough food. After the shapes have been made, they’ll bring you the food and you can pretend to eat the delicious meal they made for you.

I really like this post. I am always trying for find creative game with my children that do not require me to move too much. Often times, it is TRULY amazing how I can turn ANYTHING into a game with my children. I personally just something I call “the # game” This is where I think of a number between 1 and 10 (you can make it up to 30 depending on the age) and the child has to guess…

When my child says the wrong #, I make a funny loud buzzer sound….and when the child finally guesses the # correct I go “DING DING DING DING” and tickle my sons. Then they think of a number and I have to guess it…

They love this game…and we can play it for at least 15 minutes or so…
