There’s something about simple yet genuine thank you notes that make them so timeless.

I like to think it’s because when you revisit those notes, you’re reassured that you did something right–that you helped someone, that you made a difference no matter how big or small.

For any occasion, if you’re having a hard time trying to find a gifts for your kids’ teachers, a simple thank you note to show your appreciation is enough.

If notes just aren’t your thing, here are some things you should and shouldn’t get the teachers…

You SHOULD get teachers:

  • Bookstore/office store gift cards
  • Dry erase markers or chalk
  • Hand sanitizers
  • Tissue boxes

You SHOULDN’T get them:

  • Lotion/fragrances
  • Accessories
  • Food/candy
  • Clothing
