Having trouble getting your kids to do what you want?
Kids hardly ever want to do homework, chores, or things that make them feel like you’re calling all the shots.
But sometimes you’d like some help with things around the house, or you want them to do what they’re told so that things go smoother in your house.
You’re not trying to be a bad-guy…
You actually trying to make things easier for everyone in your home by having people do what you tell them to do, right?
So how can you get them to do what you want without it turning into a big argument or having to bribe them with big promises or money?
Check out these tips…
One of my favorite tips is to make the activity FUN!
Tip #2: Engage your children in the process: Work doesn’t have to be a bore. Turn on some fun music while you all dust or race to pick up toys.
Latin dance music can be particularly fun for this because it’s fast, exciting, and will surprise your kids because they don’t know what’s coming.
Combine that music with this next tip and it’ll be even more fun!
Tip #4: Make tasks brain food: What would be the fastest way to empty the dishwasher? Silverware or plates first?
In other words, challenge your kids in fun ways. Timers can be great for this.
“Let’s see how many things we can pick up off the living room floor in 97 seconds.” (Set the timer.) “Go!” And everyone scrambles around looking for things to pick up, while the music is playing, and then it’s done.
