Learning from other parents' mistakes can help you better discipline your kids.

Discipline seems to come with the territory for most parents with kids…

But are you doing it the right way?

Or are you making some of these big discipline mistakes?

For instance…

Are you telling your kids big fat lies in order to scare them into doing what you want?

One mom told her 2 year old that if she didn’t get ready to go to the babysitter’s house that she was going to take her daughter to the daycare center run by cavemen and Geico lizards (from the commercials.)

This did scare her daughter into getting ready for the babysitter’s house, but it also backfired on the mom when her little girl mentioned something about that to the babysitter.

Busted.

So instead of lying to your kids and reverting to scare-tactics for getting them to do what you want…

Try empathizing with your kids and understanding where they’re coming from.

Choose honesty over lying and not only will you have a better connection with your kids, but you’ll also spare yourself from having your lies get discovered by other people – which can be quite embarrassing.

Moving on…
