Because of the shame and embarrassment that comes along with being bullied, parents often don’t find out that it’s even happening to their kids.
This means that your child could be being bullied at school, silently suffering, and you don’t even know about it.

But this is a very real issue that as parent of a school-aged child, you need to be aware of.

Are you showing up in your child’s life? Or leaving them unsupervised too much of the time?
They also need to know just what bullying is (many children do not know that they are bullying others), and that such behavior is harmful to others and not acceptable.
This is SO important. How are your kids going to know if they’re bullying someone else or if they’re being bullied, if they don’t even know what bullying is? It’s like saying to someone: “Don’t schnarf at someone else.” If you don’t know what “schnarf” (a totally made up word) means, you’re not going to be able to follow that rule. See what I’m talking about?
Cyberbullying includes sending mean, rude, vulgar, or threatening messages or images; posting sensitive, private information about another person; pretending to be someone else in order to make that person look bad; and intentionally excluding someone from an online group.
Cyberbullying is a popular words these days – among adults. But do your kids even know what it means? Again, if your children don’t know what bullying or cyberbullying is, they won’t be able to tell you about it if it’s happening to them, and they won’t know that that’s what’s going on when their friends (or even they!) are doing it.
