Ever watch the show, Ready Steady Cook?
If your answer is no, the purpose of the show was to see if the chefs were able to cook with 3 random ingredients. A mix and match kind of thing.
Now think about how much money is wasted on toys that end up in the back of the toy trunk or under the bed. Yeah, that’s a lot.
Something you can do, inspired by Ready Steady Cook, is create new combinations with old toys.
For example, you just bought your child a toy car while Mr. Rabbit and the old birthday noisemakers are quietly living under the bed. Take Mr. Rabbit on an adventure in the new car. Make that Mr. Rabbit-the-cop since the noisemakers would make a great siren.
If you play with the toys together first, it will influence the child to play as well, and it will help them create brand new senarios with old and new toys.
This will definitely help the creativity flow as well as help your kids know how to appreciate the life that’s left in an old toy.
So help your child come up with new combinations of different toys. Plus, you won’t feel like you wasted any money since all the old toys are once again being played with.
Ever done something like this? What do you do with old toys? Do you throw them away, give them away, or reuse them?
