Last year I took my friend’s kids to a jack-o’-lantern launching contest at the local college.
It was the day after Halloween, and the engineering students had built some amazing (and huge!) catapults to fling the pumpkins across the football field.
It was pretty awesome.
But by looking at the line up of pumpkins people had brought to be hurled across the field, I could tell that some of them “kept” better than others had.
It made me wonder what could be done to make a jack-o’-lantern stay fresh the longest without rotting…
