It's important for parents to be just selective with drink choices as they are with food choices for their kids.
Forget about donuts, pizza, cookies, and candy for a moment…
And let’s focus on fruit punch, soda, and so-called fruit juice that is actually filling your children with Liquid Calories.
What are Liquid Calories?
Calories that you and your kids are drinking.
And the sad part is that while yes, drinking liquid is important, these drinks you and your kids are drinking often don’t even quench thirst – which is the whole point of drinking!
They’re not keeping you or your children hydrated and they’re putting your kids at risk for childhood obesity and being overweight.
Most of the things families are giving their kids these days are full of artificial flavorings, high fructose corn syrup, sugar, and artificial sweeteners…
All of which lead to huge amounts of Liquid Calories.
So what can you do instead?
A new study out of John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health finds that reducing liquid calories, especially from sugar-sweetened drinks such as punches, fruit juices and sodas, helps people lose weight and keep it off.
Start with ELIMINATING all sodas.
Your kids do not need fizzy beverages.
They do not need cola syrup coating their insides.
Even diet soda is not good for you kids.
If you’re not going to do it for yourself, at least do it for your kids.
Stop serving them liquid calories in the form of soda and pop.
Give them water. And if you’re going to give them pure fruit juice, dilute it with water so it’s not as sweet. It’ll still taste good.
Are you up for this challenge?
Your children’s health is depending on it.
