Parents are learning to carefully consider the foods they give to their babies.
Here’s a great list of finger foods you can try with your baby when he’s ready to eat solid food.
Bananas, Avocados, Cooked Peas, Peeled Peaches, Cheerios, Cooked Lentils, Macaroni (or other cooked cut-up pasta), Cooked Carrot Slices, Small Tofu Cubes, Soft Tortilla Pieces, Cheese Slices
These foods are easy to prepare as well as easy for your baby to grab onto and shove into their mouths. (Have the camera ready!)
But before you give these foods to your baby, please know that some of them can be constipating and make it difficult for your baby to poop if they eat too much of them.
On the other hand, some can give your baby the runs. Yikes!
Which ones should you watch out for?
Bananas, Cooked Peas, and Cheese can be constipating.
Cooked Lentils, and Peaches can make your child’s poop runny.
These aren’t hard and fast rules though.
Find out how your baby’s system reacts to these new solid foods.
What constipates one baby may make a huge mess in another baby’s diaper. It’s going to be important for you to pay attention to your own baby’s reactions to solid foods.
What finger foods make your baby the most constipated? Which ones give your baby the runs? Share your experiences in the comments so other parents can be watching out for those foods too.
