When you’re battling loss of sleep and taking care of your kids at the same time, it can get tough. You don’t have energy to do things you would normally do, let alone put your energy into making sure your kids are taken care of.
Here are five solutions from Health.com that could possibly help you to fall asleep faster, to get more zzz’s in so that the next morning won’t be so horrible.
- Listen to music to tune out distracting noises
- Practice light exercises before bedtime
- Keep a log on your sleeping habits and patterns to share with a specialist
- Keep cool, as in set your thermostat to around 65 degrees Fahrenheit or lower
- Relax, and do it right — picture a nice, tranquil scenery so that your brain could settle down
I’ve tried tip #1, but I always end up intently listening to the music rather than actually sleeping. From what I’ve tried, light exercising before bedtime is your best bet. You could stretch your muscles, or do something simple like curling your toes tightly for a few seconds, working different muscles.
Find your solution quick, because a good night’s sleep will allow you to be more productive the next day.
