How about bobbing for donuts instead of bobbing for apples this year?

If you’re the brave one in your group of friends who will be hosting the Halloween party this year, you need all the help you can get.

You want your Halloween Party to be memorable…

You want the games to be fun for adults and for kids…

And you want everyone to have a good time without having to spend tons of money on materials and supplies.

Instead of bobbing for apples this year (which is a game you definitely want to avoid with all the Swine Flu/H1N1 going around these days) how about bobbing for donuts?

No, I’m not talking about floating donuts in a bucket of water…

Instead, take your donuts and put some yarn through them.

Then dangle them from horizontal pole and then have your party guests and kids get down on their knees to eat the donut off of the string.

No hands allowed!

You can even hold the donut yourself (or have your kids do it) so the donut gets raised up and down and “teases” your party guest as they gnash their teeth in the air trying to grab a bite of the donut.

This game is even more fun when the donut is powdered.

(Yes – because it gets all over their faces!)

I did this Halloween party game each year in my third grade classroom with my students and they got such a kick out of it. Definitely a favorite.

If you’re not doing this outside, make sure to have a sheet or other floor covering down where you’re dangling the donuts.

There will be crumbs!
