Have you noticed the trends in celebrity divorces lately?

If there’s one thing that Hollywood and the popular media teach us, it’s that nothing ever stays the same.  Clothing and hair styles, all that changes.

But what we notice the most is not so much the change in style but the frequency of divorces.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston split up in 2005, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe cut their ties in 2006, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey divorced in 2006, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline ended their marriage in 2007.

And many, many (many) more.

Divorces are costly and stressful.  In many cases, assets are divided up between the couple.  The house, the cars, the money.  And let’s not forget the children.

Not only are divorces in Hollywood portrayed as being simple and quick, there is also very little emphasis on the lasting, oftentimes negative, effects they have on the children.

It’s important to realize that a divorce is as much about the children as it is about the parents.

Rosalind Sedacca, author of “How Do I Tell the Kids … about the Divorce?” gives tips on dealing with your children before, during, and after a divorce.

Check out the areas where she saw room for improvement in the way the divorce on the TV show “Mad Men” was handled…
