If your kids are having fun at the tailgate party, they won't be as likely to whine and complain.

If your kids are having fun at the tailgate party, they won't be as likely to whine and complain.

Tailgating with your friends is fun because you know what to expect.

(Okay, true – sometimes the unexpected stuff is what makes them really fun and memorable…)

But kids, especially younger ones, don’t know exactly what to expect.

And when kids don’t know what to expect, that means that they’re more likely to be disappointed or freaked out.

I’m sure you’ve noticed.

Fortunately there are parents like Kelly Schulthies out there finding out what works for her family and then sharing her tips…

In a recent article she shares 4 things you can do to make sure your kids have as much fun at the tailgate parties as you do this football season.

Here’s my favorite tip from her list:

Tip #1 Get your little fan his/her own chair!

Of course!

If you want your kids to feel like they’re part of the festivities, give your kids their own place to sit. And no, I’m not talking about letting them sit on the cooler until an adult tells them to scram because they need to get another beer.

We’re talking a real, fold-up chair, just like the kind you and your friends are using – though you may even find one for them in mini-size.

Check out the full article for the 3 other great tips for helping your kids have fun at tailgate parties too.

Note: Kelly is an Eagles fan and mentions them in her article. If you don’t like the Eagles, consider yourself warned. If you’re more concerned about whether your kids have fun at your tailgate parties this football season, click through and read the article and consider yourself more educated.
