Is your teenager in love with Twilight?
Just because your teens and tweens are into reading the Twilight books and watching the movies, doesn’t mean you have to be left out of the loop.
When there’s something your teen or tween is interested in, the best way to connect with them is to show some interest in it yourself.
That doesn’t mean you have to go read all the books and sit through all the movies…
But it does mean looking out for articles in magazines about the actors, reading reviews of the books and movies, and trying to understand what your teen or tween loves so much about the Twilight series.
Anything that you can connect with them on with genuine interest, see?
So here are some things you can let your teen or tween know while you’re sitting down together for dinner and she brings up the Twilight series:
You can say, “Oh I just read this article about Twilight the other day and there were interviews with the actors, and I read that….”
- Edward (the main character that all the girls love) didn’t grow his hair out for the part in the movie…it’s a wig!
- The hardest thing that Edward had to learn for the role in the movie was how to play baseball! He said that he’s not an action-movie kind of guy at all.
- Edward (played by actor Robert Pattinson) has signed up for all 3 of the movies in the trilogy.
By sharing things like this you can step into their world a little bit and talk with them about the things they love – like the Twilight series.
