Kids Yoga Helps Kids Deal With ADHD And Strong Emotions

Yoga classes can be just as beneficial for your kids as they are for you.

Yoga classes can be just as beneficial for your kids as they are for you.

Adults use yoga to calm down and feel centered…

Now your kids can do the same.

Studios and schools are popping up across the nation to teach kids as young as 3 how to move their bodies, stretch effectively, and do yoga.

We all know the importance of physical activity for little ones, but with kids’ yoga, that physical activity can be controlled and talked about as a way to calm their bodies and minds.

And it’s not only good for little kids who need help with their extra energy or sad emotions that can come up from parents’ getting divorced, a death in the family, or other challenging emotional situations…

Bigger kids can benefit too.

“The older a kid gets, 13, 14, 15, we all know how hard it is for them to understand their bodies. It’s especially difficult when you have a child that’s been told they have ADHD, they’ve been told they cannot because that’s the way they are,” she said. “I’ve seen yoga give kids their control back. They feel like they’re taking it and they can steer again.”

My children and I do yoga together several times a week. They love it and I find the days we don’t do it are a bit more hectic. Thanks for this great post!

That’s so great to hear, Kelly. Kids doing yoga is already cool…

But the fact that you’re doing it *together* makes it even more powerful!

Great time to connect with each other and spend quality time while exercising, calming down, and having fun. Thanks for being an inspiration and letting us know how it makes a difference in your family.
