Non-Childproof Medicine Sparks Vicks DayQuil RECALL

by Hong Kong Tran

Does your family use DayQuil during the cold and flu season?Last Friday about 700,000 units of Vicks DayQuil Cold & Flu 24-Count Bonus Pack Liquidcaps (UPC number 3 23900 01087 1) were recalled after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commision found that the packaging was not child-proof.
The packaging should have included the statement: “This package for households without young children.”

But it didn’t.

You’d think a popular cold and flu medicine such as Vicks DayQuil would have this cautionary note…

Fortunately, no child-related injuries have been reported with respect to the recent recall.

If you bought this product between September 2008 and December 2009, you can call Proctor and Gamble Co. at 600-251-3374 for a refund or coupon.
