President Obama is aiming to make it easier for people to get treatment for swine flu at hospitals and treatment centers.
Swine Flu (also known as H1N1) has been in the news for a few months now…
But if you were hoping to hear LESS about it, you’ll have to wait because President Obama has just declared the Swine Flu a national emergency.
Does this mean you and your kids are more likely to catch the Swine Flu?
Not if Obama can help it.
Declaring Swine Flu a national emergency is bringing a lot of attention to the hospitals and health clinics that are overflowing with people who want treatment and confirmation of the Swine Flu.
Drive thru centers and off-site treatment centers are popping up to relieve the emergency rooms and take some of the burden from them.
This is great because it keeps people infected with Swine Flu away from other non-infected people and helps contain the illness.
Remember, Swine Flu is a different strain of the regular flu, so it’s contagious through germs coming in through eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. Wash your hands regularly, and if your hands aren’t clean, keep them away from your eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. (Yes, germs can travel through the ear canals too.)
