You have time to do (almost) everything else in your schedule. But what about having time for yourself?

Warning: This article is going to give you ideas for taking better care of yourself. I know that posts like this can fly over some mom’s radars because they convince themselves right off the bat that they don’t even have time to read about ways they could take better care of themselves; let alone DO something about it.

But I’m not going to let that stop me. I know there are moms out there, maybe even you, who are ready to make a change in the way they neglect themselves. They realize that they have to start putting themselves in their priority list if they want to be able to maintain their sanity and have fun with their kids too. This is especially true for single moms.

So here’s the deal…

Before you read this article with 10 tips for how to carve out “me time” as a single parent, I want you to think about the last time you packed your car to go on a trip with your family.

Are you thinking about it?

Okay…which piece of luggage did you put in the trunk first? Was it the biggest piece or the smallest piece?

If you’re like most people, you’d put the BIG suitcase in first. Why? Because if you put all the little stuff in first, you’re never going to find room for the big suitcase.

Can you guess the moral of the story?

Your “Me-Time” needs to be the “big suitcase” in your life. You need to make sure that you’re taking care of yourself and you have to make it a priority by putting it first, otherwise it’s really hard to fit it in later.

Take a look at this list of 10 tips to help single parents carve out “me time” and see which one seems doable for you. Don’t worry. You don’t have to do all 10. Even if you find one that makes a little sense to you that you’re willing to try, it can make all the rest of the stuff you do during the day seem a bit easier.
