Parents love pre-paid cell phone plans because it limits the amount spent per month.

Is your tween one of the 60% of American tweens with their very own cell phone?

As a parent, you want your tween to be able to stay in touch with you, and you want to be able to contact them…

But you may be wondering how you can do it without opening a huge can of worms that could easily turn into hundreds of dollars extra on your phone bill from chats with their friends and texting.

In situations like this, pre-paid cell phone plans are a great option.

Here’s how they work…

In this type of plan, consumers buy minutes in advance and then replenish them as needed. There are no long term contracts or monthly fees. Most major cell phone carriers such as Cingular, Verizon and T-Mobile offer a less publicized pre-paid option.

This means you can walk right into your local cell-phone store and ask them about pre-paid options. With no long term contract.

Very cool.

When your tween uses up the minutes, that’s it. The phone won’t work anymore until you recharge it with more minutes.

You won’t have to worry about your tween racking up an enormous bill, and she’ll learn to monitor her use of the cell phone so she doesn’t use up all the minutes right away.

I myself am a teenager of 16. My parents got me a phone on contract, and i use to without thinking about it make hundreds of phone calls to friends. When my parents got the bill they were horrified, i tried to stop using my phone so often, but i still managed to increase the bill. Once my contract was finished, my parents decided not to renew it. I started using a prepaid and my parents have saved alot of money and i no longer feel bad about all the phone calls i make. We search website to look for the best offer and one of my friends told me about http://www.celldefense.com
It helped my parents make the right decision as well as make me feel that i was still getting a good deal. I thought i would post a comment so that teenagers could realise that we all need to help our parents out during this financial recession.
