It’s always hard to let go of something you’ve held onto for so long. You become afraid because letting go could mean change.

But, frequently, change isn’t always for the worse…and your toddlers’ starting preschool is definitely change for the better.

Letting go is something you have to do – you can’t hold onto your children forever. They need to experience the world outside the home, meet other little kids, and create their own memories.

For many kids, being separated from their mothers, even if it’s just for a few hours, can be a really hard to do.

And for many adults, being separated from their children can sometimes be equally hard.

Avoid being late to pick up your child to make sure your child doesn’t get distressed while having to wait.  Make the pickup the priority; everything else that needs your attention can be dealt with afterward.

Your child depends on you to be there when you say you’re going to be there. Especially when they’re still so young, you don’t want to have them wondering where mommy or daddy is. For such a youngster, that’s a scary thought.
