Would your kids guess that raspberries are healthier than bread?
As a former teacher, whenever I come across ideas for using games and fun to teach kids things, my ears perk right up.
It happened today when I came across an article from Lara at Parenting Blog. She shared 5 Easy Ways To Get Your Kids To Eat Healthier, and one of them was a game!
The game is similar to…
Kitten War, where you get presented with two pictures of kitties and you click on the one that you think is cutest. (Warning: If you and your kids like cats, you could spend *hours* playing with that site.)
But when it comes to teaching your kids to eat healthier, to play a live version of the game, you name two foods (or show them two foods) and ask them which one is healthier. It’s best if you know ahead of time which food is healthier, but if you don’t, that’s okay. You can go online and look it up together.
Then as your kids get better and better at determining what’s healthier, you can use the book, Eat This, Not That to challenge them. There’s also an Eat This, Not That book for kids.
