Teen Groundation Taking Punishment To Web

by Hong Kong Tran

Teens have started using the internet as a way to campaign against their parents.

The New York Times recently published an article about a teenager whose parents grounded her for breaking curfew and drinking. This teen is 15 years old.

So in order to deal with this, the teen turned to Facebook and started a campaign in order to convince her parents from lifting her punishment.

Teens will do anything these days…

But the focus isn’t about what she did on Facebook. It’s about her taking up the habit of drinking at 15 years old.

As a parent who enforces the rules, underage drinking is something that can’t be dismissed. Your teens can try to work their way around your punishment, but don’t give in! Set the rules, enforce them, and stick to them. Let your teens know that your rules are for their own safety. They may not understand this now, but they don’t necessarily have to. With experience they’ll learn that what you’re doing is reasonable.

Do you have any interesting or bizarre stories about your teens’ trying to get you to remove their punishments?
