Valentine’s Day Ideas for Kids

by Hong Kong Tran

Make this Valentine's Day about showing love to all different people around you.

Valentine’s Day isn’t just a holiday for two people in love to share. You can share it with your kids, too. More importantly, you can teach your kids that February 14th is a day for all kinds of love.

Make your kids’ Valentine’s Day this year a memorable one, not because of the candy and the cards, but because they shared their love to those who can’t spend this day at home with loved ones.

Here’s a cool, non-traditional idea from More4Kids that you and your kids could do that would be much more memorable than receiving a few pieces of candy:
Bring some of that lovin’ to kids in a Children’s Hopsital

There are many kids who are suffering in a Children’s Hospital that could use some cheering up on this holiday. Teach your children compassion this Valentine’s Day by having them make and then take Valentine’s to kids who are in a Children’s Hospital. Just call ahead to make sure that this is allowed.

You and your kids could make Valentine’s Day cards together, then distribute them in the hospital. This is a nice way to make your kids realize that there are kids just like them who deserve some tender, love, and care but may not receive it. Let your kids know that they’re making a big impact on other kids’ lives. You could make this a tradition, and we all know how important traditions are!

What do you think? Does this sound like something you could do with your kids this year? Got any other Valentine’s Day activities that you do with your kids? Share them with us below!
