Parents are learning the meaning behind their child's eye-rolling.

Most parents feel like losing their cool when their kids roll their eyes at them.

It can seem like your kids are giving you an attitude and being disrespectful.

And sometimes all you want to do is put them back in their place and let them know that you’re the one in charge, right?

And while many experts agree that eye-rolling is disrespectful, what if you could deal with the eye-rolling without having to label your child as being disrespectful?

After all, eye-rolling is just an attempt to communicate something that your kids don’t feel comfortable expressing verbally.

In reality, it’s just that your kids are trying their best to express that they don’t like what’s going on.

Could they have better ways of communicating that? Probably yes. But for now, the best thing they can come up with is to roll their eyes at you.

Instead of taking the eye rolling personally, consider guessing what your child is feeling.

Say things like:

  • You don’t want to do your chores right now, do you?
  • You wish you could keep listening to your music instead of getting ready for dinner, huh?
  • What you’re doing here is connecting with your child’s upset. That’s the reason for the eye-rolling in the first place.

This may be a controversial way of looking at eye-rolling, so read the full article then come back and let me know what your opinion is.
