Do you sometimes try to get your toddler to eat "just 2 more bites"?
Are you worried about whether your baby or toddler is eating enough?
Does it seem like your kids are such picky eaters that you’re afraid they’re not getting enough food or enough nutrients?
The reality is that your child probably isn’t suffering from anything even close to malnutrition. (Most kids in the U.S. aren’t…)
And studies show that around 10% of toddlers are even *over* weight…
But if you find yourself being worried about how little or infrequently your child is eating, here’s some important news for you.
Dina Rose, PhD suggests that there are 3 things you can do right now to help you deal with your fears that your little one might not be eating enough:
- Figure out WHY you want your child to eat more and then work with your own issues around that. (She shares 2 very practical tips you can take when you figure out what your motivation is behind wanting your kids to eat more.)
- Decide what you want your child to learn about eating and then make sure you’re teaching her that. (Again, in her article, Dr. Dina Rose shares 2 examples of what it can look like when you’re clear about what you want to teach your children about eating.)
- Trust your child. Yes, this can be easier said than done, but this will become easier when you’re clear about the lessons you want to teach your child about food and eating (see above in #2.)
