Ellen is now living a vegan lifestyle. Here's why...

Ellen won’t be eating meat, poultry, fish, eggs, or dairy products now that she’s switched to a vegan lifestyle.

Vegans are like vegetarians that take it another step further because they stay away from any animal products – including dairy.

Many vegans also avoid buying or wearing leather because it’s made from cow skin and they don’t want to use any animal products at all.

Ellen is a huge advocate for compassionate, cruelty-free living and once she realized how terribly animals were treated before they were slaughtered to be turned into meat…

And how much damage the farms are doing to the environment, she made the switch to being vegan.

On her website she shares WHY she went vegan…

For instance, did you know…

More than 70% of grain produced in the US is fed to animals raised for slaughter. In order to get just one pound of meat, it takes a full 15 pounds of grain. If this grain were given directly to people, there would be enough food to feed everyone. Also, the land that the animals are raised on can be used to grow significantly more food than the land currently provides.

So by Ellen and other vegans not eating animals, they’re taking a stand for less grain being used to feed cattle that will soon be killed…

And voting for that grain to be used to feel human people who are famished and struggling to find food.

Most people think that steak just somehow winds up on their plate…

But as you educate yourself about where meat comes from and how it winds up on your plate, you see that there are a lot of side effects (some not so pretty ones too) that come about from raising, growing, and killing animals for meat.

And we’re not even talking about the health issues here.

So if you’re concerned about green living and want to make sure you’re doing your part for the environment also so your kids have a nice planet to enjoy as they get older, look into the vegan lifestyle and see if makes sense to you.

Even if you don’t become a full vegan and stop eating meat completely, at least you can know exactly what you’re getting into by eating what you’re eating.

It’s all about being educated so you can make informed decisions about what you’re doing and eating – and not just do things because that’s the way you’ve always done them.

Advice From Parents: Would you consider cutting back on the amount of meat you ate because it was bad for the environment and the animals were treated cruelly?
