Moms are making the most of every moment they spend with their kids.
Even if you work outside of your home, you can still spend quality time with your kids without having to go out of your way or spend a lot of money.
Penny Warner, author of the book, Quality Time Anytime, collected over 200 stimulating activities you can do with your kids for quality time.
She even has tips for turning things like waiting in line, or sitting in the doctor’s office in to quality time with your kids.
All it takes is a little creativity and imagination, Warner says.
Here are some of her favorite “regular times” for turning into quality time with your kids:
- Bath Time
- Bed Time
- Car Time
- Dinner-Making Time
- Shopping Time
By creating a little game during each of those times, you can have fun and bond with your little ones.
For instance, what if the next time you read your child a new story when it’s time for bed, you let her try to guess what the ending is going to be before you finish it?
That’s a fun way to have some giggles and get engaged with your daughter instead of simply reading the book, closing it, and kissing her on the forehead.
That little game turns regular time into quality time. Voila!
Or when you’re eating dinner together as a family, Warner gives the idea of playing a game where you try to name something in the kitchen that starts with the letter J.
See how simple it can be?
Being in the same area or room as your child is not what makes it quality time.
Based on Warner’s collection of ideas for creating quality time with your kids, quality time comes from engaging with your kids and connecting.
